Initially, the interior was full of windowless rooms, dark and cramped spaces, and lacked a good connection with the outdoor space. In contrast, the design focused on the kitchen, dining room, and patio, which we joined together creating the new living space of the house. A skylight above the first-floor hallway floods the staircase with sunlight and allows the circulation of hot air in summer. 

The materials used maintain a connection to the site: lime plaster is used for the facades; existing materials, such as the patio flooring and the old kitchen counter are reused. 

Finally, solar panels with batteries generate all the energy needed for the house to be self-sufficient and environmentally responsible.
